How to Officially Become an Arizona Wildcat

If you’ve recently been admitted to the University of Arizona, congratulations! We’re so excited to welcome you into the world’s best student body (okay, we’re a little biased, but our students are pretty amazing).

Before you can officially call yourself an Arizona Wildcat, there are a few steps you need to take. Some things are easy, like making sure you have plenty of red and blue in your wardrobe. Others might take you a little more time. Fortunately, we’re here to help you along the way.

1. Visit the Next Steps Center

The Next Steps Center is your portal to all things enrollment. It’s your one-stop shop for everything you’ll need to do before the first day of classes.

You’ll start by creating your NetID/NetID+ and password, which you’ll use for many important student services like your email. Then, you’ll be able to review all of your outstanding enrollment to-do items that are flagged for your attention.

2. Pay Your Enrollment Fee 

Paying your enrollment fee is an important step because it guarantees your spot in our incoming class. Within your Next Steps Center, you can get details on how to pay the fee by check, credit card, or e-check. 

If the enrollment fee is a financial burden to you and your family, you can also apply for a deferral as long as you have completed the Federal Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) . If your deferral request is approved, you won’t be charged until two weeks prior to the start of the semester.

Once you pay your enrollment fee, you’ll be able to register for orientation.

3. Sign Up for New Student Orientation

Orientation is an important and memorable event for all students. It’s your official welcome to the University of Arizona. You’ll get to know the resources, people, and services that will help you be successful over the next few years. You will also meet your fellow classmates and make new friends. Watch Countdown to Orientation to learn more about the big day.

Orientation sessions fill quickly, so be sure to sign up ASAP to claim your ideal date.

4. Explore Scholarship Universe

One of the best perks of being admitted is being able to tap into more funding opportunities via Scholarship Universe . This powerful tool has connected students with millions of dollars in scholarships. And there could be money for college out there, waiting just for you.

5. Make Time to Celebrate!
